I was shocked the last time I came through on my way to Budapest. . .at least the area from the station to the center is now classy & clean. Great progress! But I like it - there's a few nice pubs and bars, some fantastic food and lots of easy day trips - Tyskie brewery, Eagle's Nest castles, and trains to Prague, Budapest, etc. The Jewish community here has also got some interesting buildings and the cemetary has some famous names. I actually quite like the trainstation - I like communist architecture, that's why I'm moving to Nowa Huta! Although, because I am moving to Krakow in two weeks, that probably mades me like Katowice more now I know I'm leaving!
