I unfortunately missed the cherries, but I do have blackberries instead. Will these be suitable to make Blackberry Vodka? Also which brand of Polish Spirit should I look out for to make my potion? Hope you are enjoying your heatwave! Pouring with rain here (Edinburgh) as usual!

Hmm, you see Miranda, that’s the problem with Polish alcohol in the UK – it’s usually much more expensive here than it is in Poland. But then again all alcohol IS expensive in the UK. As Uncle says, use the good stuff – even if it means paying more for it.

I have a recipe to make Cherry Liqueur! There are some trees nearby – wild cherries, red to dark red in colour. The recipe requires 6 litres of cherries, 2 litres of Pure Polish Spirit, 2 cloves & 450g caster sugar. The problem is the Pure Polish Spirit! I have seen it at the local Polish deli £17-20 per 1/2 litre is rather expensive. The assistant suggested cheap vodka instead! Any suggestions?? The recipe makes 2 litres!!
